Draft Evacuation Analysis

Read the draft Safety Element Evacuation Analysis! The draft Evacuation Analysis analyzes roadways along evacuation routes that are likely to be most congested during an evacuation event, as well as residential areas that are most vulnerable to traffic congestion along the identified evacuation routes.

The analysis evaluates three potential wildfire scenarios as well as potential landslide risk along possible evacuation routes:

  1. A wildfire originating from the open spaces to the southwest of Orinda.

  2. A wildfire originating from the open space areas surrounding Lafayette Reservoir immediately east of Orinda.

  3. A wildfire originating in or near Briones Regional Park north of Orinda.

The final Evacuation Analysis will become an appendix to the Safety Element.

A virtual City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 7pm to receive feedback on the draft Evacuation Analysis. Visit the Calendar page to learn more about the upcoming meeting.
